Job Specification – Technical Support Consultant

AdvanceFirst Technologies is a young but fast growing software development company that offers a wide range of business to business (B2B) software and services, increasingly in an outsourced or managed service environment.

We are now seeking a talented individual to join our Technical Support team as a Technical Support Consultant. The role is varied but will involve direct (face to face) and indirect (telephone) support responsibilities so good communication skills are essential along with some experience of a similar IT support environment. Full participation in the growth and success of our company is encouraged and rewarded where possible.

The following are a list of skills and experience that would be of benefit to your application. Being able to tick everything on the list is not essential but the more breadth of skills and knowledge you can demonstrate then the more likely you are to be of interest to us:

• Knowledge of EDI systems, software and processes
• Minimum of 5 years experience
• IT Support Management role or a strong IT support environment
• Customer facing experience – Sales, Sales Support, Account Management, Consulting role
• Programming knowledge and experience – XML, XSL, C++, VB Script, Visual Basic, Java
• Languages – Ability to speak a European language at a conversational level would be a benefit but not essential.

All candidates will need to demonstrate the following characteristics and skills as a minimum:

• Well Presented
• Articulate and enthusiastic
• Emphasis on quality, timely delivery and first class customer service in an IT environment
• Well qualified to a degree or equivalent level or qualified through experience.
• Keen to improve and excel in the role.

The role is based at our Head Office in Shepperton Marina, Middlesex travelling nationally or internationally when required. It would therefore be essential for you to have a full UK driving licence and car.

Salary – Competitive depending on skills and experience.

Job Specification – Analyst/Programmer/Technical Consultant

AdvanceFirst Technologies are seeking a creative, motivated and talented person with strong interpersonal skills for the above role within their business. AdvanceFirst is a software development company that specialises in the provision of business to business electronic commerce and services for a substantial number of medium to large companies.

The role is an opportunity for the successful candidate to be closely involved in a dynamic and growing team responsible for the design, development, implementation and support of the AdvanceFirst range of unique and innovative software products.

The ideal candidate will posses the following:

• Experience of software development, installation and configuration
• Ability to deliver software and services to the required standard within agreed timescales
• Proficiency in XML, XSL, VB Script, C++, Visual Basic and Java
• Experience of web site design and maintenance and Knowledge of search engine optimisation techniques an advantage

As a minimum, the candidate will need to demonstrate the following characteristics and skills.|

• Well presented
• Articulate
• Thorough with an emphasis on quality and timely delivery
• Proficient in at least one programming language
• Graduated with an IT related degree

The position is based in Shepperton Marina, travelling nationally and internationally when required. It would therefore be important for the candidate to hold a full UK driving licence and passport.

We specialise in the provision of EDI, systems integration, electronic trading and secure managed file transfer systems.

Roles can vary depending on availability but are usually in the areas of: -

• Sales / Account Management / Telesales (with an ambition to grow into a full sales role) – Preferably with a proven successful sales track record in EDI or at least a related area of IT.
• Programming – Experience in more than one of the following, ASP, SQL Server, C++, VB also EDI, Mapping, XML, XSL.
