Security Level 1

Appropriate for low sensitivity documents such as order confirmations and dispatch advices.

Trading documents are exchanged as a client customised HTML file attached to an email that look virtually identical to the paper documents you send presently. A digital signature is attached to the email so that the recipient knows that the message is genuine and that the document has not been interfered with or corrupted en route to the trading partner.

The recipient requires nothing more than an email address.

Security Level 2

Appropriate for high sensitivity documents where proof of delivery is not important. For example, statements, sales reports, price lists etc.

Trading documents are exchanged as a client customised HTML file attached to an email. In addition to the digital signature the data is secured using industry standard 3DES encryption to ensure the only the intended recipient is able to read the contents.

The recipient requires an email address and a digital certificate which can be generated using free Advance-Certification software if required.

Security Level 3

Appropriate for high sensitivity documents which must be tracked through to delivery. For example, invoices, credit notes and orders.

Trading documents are exchanged as a client customised HTML file attached to an email. In addition to the digital signature (to authenticate the sender) and 3DES encryption (to make the data unreadable to anyone other than the intended recipient), a form of digital receipt is returned to confirm a number of things.

1. The date and time of sending and receiving the document
2. The recipient received and successfully decrypted the document
3. The document they received is identical to the document you sent

The recipient requires an email address, a digital certificate and a copy of Advance- Communicator software.
